Remember to:

• Cite original sources properly, regardless of whether AI is used
• Disclose any permitted AI use (if applicable) in accordance with course, faculty or publisher's requirements
• Use AI tools responsibly to support (not replace) your own thinking and learning
• Be prepared to explain your ideas, structure, and development of the essay if requested
• Be transparent about AI use and clearly state its role (e.g. translation, grammar checking, language refinement)
• Check the accuracy of AI-generated outputs before incorporating them into your work
• Ensure that all submitted work reflects your own understanding, interpretation and originality

Examples of unethical use of AI include:

• Submitting AI-generated text, images, or code as entirely your own work without acknowledgement
• Using AI to complete assignments, essays, or exam questions when not permitted
• Paraphrasing or rewriting source materials entirely through AI without proper citation
• Fabricating or altering references, data, or citations using AI tools
• Attempting to conceal AI use (e.g. using tools to avoid AI detection)
